Jason Bargwanna

David Nutter Ford has been a personal sponsor for V8 Supercar champion, Jason Bargwanna since 2003 and is now proud to announce that Jason has joined the David Nutter Ford Racing Team as a consultant. Jason, a local resident with over 23 years of racing experience, has made a place for himself in the Australian motor racing scene with numerous round wins (including a Bathurst win in 2000), so you will still see his smiling face regularly around the newly renovated premises in Berwick, as well as Pakenham and Koo Wee Rup.

Jason's success has definitely not come easy and, as with most up and coming talents, has had to fight every step of the way.
But his true grit, 'never say die' attitude and sparkling personality are what makes him a crowd favourite, and are the traits that have seen him through some tough times early on as he established his career. With a loan from the bank, a tired old road car to tow his racing cars around the country, the help of several volunteer mates, and a tone of belief in his own ability, Jason amassed an impressive record of successes early in his career including first in Holden Cup, second in Formula Ford Championship, fifth in the James Hardie Twelve Hour, first in Class C in the Toohey's 1000 and runner up in Australia's open wheeler category where he took out the Pole Position Award for most pole positions in a season as well as the Rookie of The Year Award.
Jason was given the chance to show his skill in 1998 when he scored his first V8 Supercar race win at Calder Park Raceway. Podium finishes came more and more regularly. He was in fine, history making form in Round 10 at Winton in 1999. Qualifying fastest, Jason dominated the meeting, convincingly winning all three races and the Round in a spectacular show of racing skill. To top it off, Jason backed up his performance with a brilliant 'come from behind' Round win the following year at the same track.

Numerous other podium finishes, race and round wins highlighted Jason's 1999 season while season 2000 produced several good results including a second place finish at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, a Round win at Winton, and second place at the Queensland 500. His hard work paid off big time when, in the last race of the season, he won Australia's most sought after race, the FAI 1000 victory at Bathurst.

In 2002 Jason stepped back into the winners circle with a gritty victory in very tricky, wet conditions at the Gold Coast Indy championship round. Jason finished 13th in the V8 Supercar Championship in 2002.

In 2003 Jason stepped into the Ford family to pilot the Orrcon Racing Falcon. A couple of years with the Mark Larkham operation brought mixed results with a podium at Indy in 2004 and a top ten finish in the championship that same year.

At the beginning of 2006 LMS Racing combined with WPS Racing. Jason quickly established himself with the new operation.

A polished media performer and keen PR advocate Jason has also injected much needed personality into the ranks of Australia's elite racing car drivers. When away from the track Jason keeps himself busy with promotional work. An all-round sportsman, he also enjoys skiing (snow and water), golf and riding motor bikes with his sons on their property.
